I hope you guys like it ^ /// w /// ^

Summer heat got you down?! This cute wintery pic will cool you down!

Yuru Yuri is one of my favorite series. Some of my favorite moments in the manga/anime is when Sakurako stands up for Akari. It's so cute. > // _ // <

Also, I'm very happy with how everything came out, except for the shoes. I just can't draw shoes yet. I really need to practice them. If the shoes bother you as much as they bother me, check out this cropped version: [link]

Also check out this black and white version: [link]

Tools:
Sketched first, the outlined and colored in SAI.

UPDATE: I updated the pic with a few subtle changes.

Let me just say, looking at this picture makes me want to watch the anime. It's just that adorable, I can't really find anything wrong with it, except for a few quirks.

The girl on the left looks like her arms are too small. I've been told that arms should usually extend to the crotch or the hips, but these look smaller, perhaps because of the clothing too. Same thing with the other girl, but not as noticeable.

The other thing was that the background comes off as kind of flat. Like, there's piles of snow, but they're not actually standing on them. Perhaps you could've added more snow in the back, with different shades of white?

Aside from that, there's a lot I adore in this picture. The cheerful expressions make the scene complete, and the way they're holding hands and the red-haired girl's lifting up her leg. It just makes you smile.

I like how it's drawn, and how it looks like there was equal effort spent in the girls and the background, with the snow. The soft, puffy snowflakes look good against the more noticeable, but still gentle, hues of the girls. It all looks really soft and comfy, if you know what I mean.

Also, I like how some places have more light then others. The hair has big patches, typical for anime, and the socks have just a thin line in the middle. It'd look odd if everything had that, so I'm glad you limited it to a few ket items. Plus, I like how you added the big pink blush, so it really does look like they're in the cold.

For vision, I'd probably say a three. The themes are pretty obvious here, about friendship and such, though it's not much more then that. I'm pretty sure you said this was from another anime, so I'm not sure about originality. Most likely a two. I'm not sure about techniques, but I'd say a two for that, and for impact, I'd say three. It looks nice overall, and it gives the viewer a warm feeling, perfect for those chilly days. Now I wish it was winter...
